Terms of Use

Last updated: April 2026

By using FibreCalcs.com (“the site”), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Calculator results are estimates

Every calculator on FibreCalcs produces estimates for planning purposes. Results are based on standard formulas, published references, and the inputs you provide. They are not guarantees of accuracy for your specific project. Actual fabric, yarn, or material requirements can vary based on factors that no calculator can fully account for, including but not limited to the following.

We strongly recommend buying 10-15% more material than the calculator suggests. Measure twice, cut once. Check your measurements against the actual fabric or yarn before making irreversible cuts.

No liability for purchasing or cutting decisions

FibreCalcs and its operator, Dan Dadovic, accept no liability for purchasing decisions, cutting decisions, or project outcomes based on calculator results from this site. You use the calculators at your own risk. If you purchase material based on a result from this site and it proves insufficient or excessive, we are not responsible for the cost of additional material, wasted material, or any other losses.

This is not a disclaimer buried in fine print to protect us from theoretical lawsuits. It is a genuine statement of how calculators work: they produce estimates from the data you give them, and the real world has more variables than any input form can capture. Professional seamstresses, quilters, and knitters always verify measurements independently, and we encourage you to do the same.

Acceptable use

You may use FibreCalcs for personal, educational, or commercial planning purposes. You may not do any of the following.

Normal use of the calculators, sharing of results, and linking to the site is encouraged and does not require permission.

Intellectual property

The design, code, content, illustrations, and branding of FibreCalcs are the intellectual property of Dan Dadovic unless otherwise stated. This includes the site’s visual design, educational content, worked examples, diagrams, and the specific implementation of each calculator.

The underlying mathematical formulas themselves are not proprietary — they are standard textile calculations drawn from published references. You are free to use the same formulas in your own projects. What you may not reproduce is the specific presentation, prose, and design of this site.

User-generated content

When you submit feedback through the site’s feedback form, you grant FibreCalcs a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to use your feedback for the purpose of improving the site. This includes incorporating suggestions into calculator features, fixing reported bugs, and improving content accuracy. We will not publish your name, email address, or full feedback text publicly without your explicit permission.

Limitation of liability

FibreCalcs is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dan Dadovic and FibreCalcs shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the site, including but not limited to the following.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

Availability

We aim to keep FibreCalcs available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The site may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, hosting issues, or circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for any losses arising from periods of unavailability.

External links

FibreCalcs may contain links to external websites for reference purposes (for example, links to source materials cited in formula references). We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of those external sites.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
