Privacy Policy
Last updated: 29 April 2026
FibreCalcs (“we”, “us”, or “the site”) is operated by Dan Dadovic from Northumberland, United Kingdom. This policy explains what data the site collects, why it is collected, how it is used, and what rights you have regarding that data. It applies to all visitors regardless of location, and is written to meet the requirements of the UK Data Protection Act 2018, the UK GDPR, and the EU General Data Protection Regulation.
What data we collect
FibreCalcs collects very little data. We do not require registration, we do not sell any data, and we do not run advertising. The data we do collect falls into four categories.
Analytics (Google Analytics 4)
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site — which calculators are popular, where traffic comes from, and how people move through pages. GA4 collects pseudonymised data including page views, session duration, approximate geographic region (country/city level), device type, browser, and referral source.
GA4 is gated according to where you are visiting from. If you are visiting from the EU, UK, EEA, or Switzerland, we ask for your consent before any analytics cookies are set. If you are visiting from California, Brazil, or another opt-out jurisdiction (Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah), you can opt out at any time using the “Privacy Choices” link in the footer. Visitors from other regions are tracked by default; you can clear our cookies via your browser settings at any time.
Data processor: Google LLC. Data is processed under Google’s standard terms. You can read Google’s privacy policy for full details on their data handling practices.
Aggregate visit counts (Vercel Analytics)
We also use Vercel Analytics to count aggregate visits across the site. Vercel Analytics is cookieless — it does not set cookies or use any browser storage, does not collect personal data, and requires no consent. It produces only anonymised aggregate counts (visit totals, page popularity) so we can confirm traffic numbers for visitors who decline GA4 analytics.
Data processor: Vercel Inc. You can read Vercel’s privacy policy for full details.
Spam protection (Cloudflare Turnstile)
The feedback form on this site uses Cloudflare Turnstile to prevent spam submissions. Turnstile is a privacy-focused alternative to traditional CAPTCHAs. It works without tracking cookies and does not collect personal data from visitors. When you submit the feedback form, Turnstile verifies that the request is from a real person by analysing browser signals — no puzzles, no image recognition.
Data processor: Cloudflare, Inc. Turnstile operates under Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Email delivery (Resend)
When you submit feedback through the form, your name, email address, and message are sent to the site operator via Resend, a transactional email service. This data is used solely to receive and respond to your feedback. We do not add you to any mailing list, we do not share your email address with anyone, and we do not use your contact information for marketing.
Data processor: Resend, Inc. Your data is processed under Resend’s privacy policy.
Calculator inputs
All calculator inputs are processed entirely in your browser. No measurement data, fabric dimensions, or project details are sent to our servers or stored anywhere. When you close the page, your inputs are gone. The only local storage used is for your unit preference (imperial or metric) and cookie consent choice, both stored in your browser’s localStorage.
Cookie consent
What you see on the site depends on where you are visiting from. We detect this from your IP geolocation at the edge — no fingerprinting, no IP storage.
- EU, UK, EEA, Switzerland— a consent banner appears on first visit with two options: Accept enables GA4; Rejectblocks all tracking. No cookies are set until you choose. Closing the banner without choosing is not consent — GA4 stays blocked. You can change your choice at any time via the “Cookie Settings” link in the footer.
- California, Brazil, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah— no banner appears, but a “Privacy Choices” link in the footer lets you opt out of GA4 at any time, as required under CCPA/CPRA, LGPD, and other US state privacy laws.
- Everywhere else— GA4 fires by default. You can clear our cookies via your browser settings at any time.
Your consent choice is stored in your browser’s localStorage (key: consent-status), not in a cookie. Clearing your browser storage resets the choice.
Data retention
GA4 data is retained for 14 months (Google’s default retention period). Feedback submissions (name, email, message) are retained in email form for as long as needed to respond. We do not maintain a separate database of feedback submissions.
Third-party sharing
We do not sell, trade, or transfer your data to any parties beyond the four services listed above (Google Analytics, Vercel Analytics, Cloudflare Turnstile, and Resend). We do not run advertising networks, affiliate programmes, or data brokers on this site.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data. You also have the right to data portability and the right to object to processing. Since we collect minimal data and do not maintain user accounts, most of these rights are exercised automatically — rejecting cookies prevents data collection entirely.
If you have submitted feedback and would like your submission deleted, or if you have any other data-related requests, use the feedback form on any page to contact us. We will respond within 30 days.
Children’s privacy
FibreCalcs does not knowingly collect data from children under 13 (or under 16 in jurisdictions where that threshold applies). The site does not require registration, and analytics are only enabled with explicit consent.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, the “Last updated” date at the top of this page will be revised. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Contact
For any privacy-related questions or data requests, use the feedback form on any page of this site. All enquiries are read by the site operator, Dan Dadovic, and responded to personally.
